ScanTool

ScanTool is a free mobile app that combines a digital magnifier, a QR and barcode scanner, and offline OCR text recognition.

It allows you to freeze and magnify images, draw annotations, find a specific EAN code, capture text using the camera or an existing photo, and save, copy, or share the results. The app contains no ads, and all main processing takes place directly on your phone.

FEATURES

Digital Magnifier

Magnify small text, labels, instructions, or technical details using your phone’s camera. You can freeze the image, zoom in further, move it around, and add colored annotations with adjustable line thickness. The final image can be saved or shared with the annotations included.

QR and Barcode Scanning

Quickly scan QR, EAN, UPC, and other common code formats. Recognized content can be copied, shared, read aloud, or saved to the history. The app automatically identifies web links, contact details, and other useful information.

Finding a Specific EAN

Enter the EAN or UPC you are looking for and move the camera over a box or shelf containing multiple products. ScanTool ignores all other codes and alerts you with a sound and vibration when it finds an exact match. This makes it easy to locate the correct product without manually checking every label.

Offline OCR Text Recognition

Convert printed text into digital form directly using the camera or a photo from your gallery. Recognized text can be edited, copied, shared, and saved to the history. Smart Parser also detects email addresses, phone numbers, web links, VINs, and product or serial numbers. All processing takes place directly on your phone.
